Gin, a middle-aged man who claims to have lost everything; Miyuki, a teenage runaway with a somewhat touchy temper; Hana, a middle-aged transsexual. When the homeless family discover an abandoned child in the garbage, they venture on to find the child's family. Throughout the movie, they face a variety of obstacles, including incidences of faith and crime, and inevitably their own pasts. The action is dramatic, the resolutions are touching, and the characters, though differing in personalities, are all fun at one point or another (particularly the outgoing Hana. Though some incidences are incredible, the characters are somewhat realistic, and the story itself proves that not all animation is for 'kids. One thing that should be clarified, however, is that while Hana is a transsexual, homosexuality is scarce in the movie.

Three hobos (One man, One girl, and on she-man) and a baby. What could possibly make a funnier animation? These three homeless fools that stick together through harsh weather out in the blistering cold of the streets could not make a more comical trio. The man and younger girl don't quite pair, but the cross-dressing man thirsts for a child. And seeing as men don't give birth, this she-male is in quite a dilemma. Upon discovering a child in the garbage, the gender-confused man received a child. As the story progresses, the characters' backgrounds evolve into a story of their own. The lives of these three are about to change forever, with a lot of laughs along the way. You don't have to like animations to have the laugh of a lifetime with this movie.
But where is the best place to watch all of them. I always love to hear people discuss Satoshi Kon. Thank you so much for making this video, and merry Christmas. After Hayao Misyazaki, Oshii is the most well known Japanese animation movie director, most known, not only by the series Ghost in The Shell, but also by the Patlabor movie trilogy. It's semi-realistic character design, combined with an unique style of animation makes his works true masterpieces, at the sme level at Miyazaki. The second director is Shinji Aramaki. I think Aramaki should be in this list, not beacuse of what he has done (decades ago) but what he has been doing in recent years, and how it can affect the future of Japanese Animation. For those who don't know, Shinji Aramaki is the guy who proved that Anime didn't have to be restricted to 2D animation and was able to do the most successfull 3D/CGI Anime movies/series ever done. From 2004's Appleseed, to 2019's Ultraman series, to the new CGI Starship Troopers films (as director) almost every Japanese 3D animation film has (at least) his participation. That's why Aramaki had to be in that list. While Miyazaki and Oshii represent the past, Aramaki represents the future of Japanese Animation, by breaking a barrier betwen conventional (or CGI Assisted) 2D animation an actual 3D Animation, in Japan.

If ever there was the death of a person unrelated to me that affected me deeply, it would be my realisation of the death of Satoshi Kon. It was many years after his death, where I would watch the movie Paprika and Tokyo Godfather's. These two unique movies shared an experience that I can never forget. I knew instantly after watching both of these movies, I had to look up who the director was and the other staff involved. Upon looking up the people involved in the creation of these two movies, I found out about Satoshi Kon's death by Cancer. I had a sudden urge to cry over the death of a person who before that point I had never even heard about, but through his movie's would learn that he was a remarkably gifted person with an absolutely one of a kind mind. Even to this day, when I hear the music from Paprika. I start to become emotional over the fact that there will never be the release of another great movie by this man. May you Rest in Peace Satoshi Kon.
