Even the rats looked like extras who had wandered in from a live action remake of Ratatouille. Did the filmmakers not see Peter Jackson's They Shall Not Grow Old? About fifteen minutes in my wife and I knew with a certainty that one of the handsome chaps would not go the distance, and once the remaining handsome chap was on his own we knew with an even greater certainty that he would meet a cowering French peasant girl in a barn or cellar, and that she would be clutching an infant while shells exploded overhead, and sure enough, about forty minutes later, there she was, fresh from having her tumbling golden curls blown out at a good salon. We relished the interiors of the buildings in the ruined town, where patches of brick showed through the plaster walls with all the gritty realism of the decor of a 1950's Italian restaurant in Newark. And to yank us out of the movie right when we might have been giving over to it in spite of ourselves, cameos by Patrick Melrose and Robb Stark! Gorgeous technical work by Roger Deakins and team gets this a couple of stars. On Oscar night that will be the wife and me me rolling my eyes when this wins best picture.

This shows we need more Worl War I movies. With the advent of Iran today, this is a war that needs to be brought back. Because, world war II gets alot of the spotlight, but it is really a rare war where ethics and ideology was the center point. World War I is a war based on what war is usually fought, land, resources, or politics. This needs to be brought back how quickly we can dehumanize each other and how quickly shit can get out of hand and a pointless war breaks out. World War I is a reminder that humans will fight with out ideology and ethics. World War I needs to be remembered, imho more so than World War II.

This only shows, unfortunately, how CGI has overloaded movies these days at the expense of character development and story. No wonder the Joker movie was so amazing. While I have no idea if they even used CGI, that's the point, I didn't even notice because Joker was all about the incredible performances and engrossing story line, not overdone CGI explosions and extended action sequences.Watch Stream. Doesn't matter that plot is fiction, the movie is true to the period and displayed WW1, the way it was. In 2019 we had 2 of the best villains of all time. Thanos and joker and they we were pitch perfect movies. What a year 2019 was. They portray Bruce Lee, as an arrogant, fight starter. Wich is the opposite of what is known of him. How mind twisting do you want to make this? Shutter Island: Yes Inception: Yes Tenet: Everything.
