The flirty talk, hilarious topics and references, makes the pragmatic conversations thoroughly entertaining and electrifying. Addition to that, Crystal's comic timing and Ryan's support to him, blends in aptly. The structure of the feature is newer and fresh that is respected equally as much as the characters have been. The little nuances like fiddling with the props around the scene and a brief love track narrated by various couple in an interview is just pure delight. Reiner's world is brimmed with such sweet innuendos that makes it utterly pleasing with a big smile on the face that stays with the audience long after the curtain drops. The background score is a bit disappointing along with the sound department although the cinematography (like the phone call between Harry and Sally) play a vital role in storytelling and has fine editing. It is shot with bright and light colors spread across the whole screen that is appealing for the viewers from the first frame. As mentioned earlier, the performance is decent if not anything extraordinary especially by the lead cast Crystal and Ryan. Reiner's execution is unfortunately chalky around the edges but with a sincere heart at the center of it, it sails off the shore safely. Smart and funny conversation, simple and sensible track and, a safer perspective are the high points of the feature. Story jump ahead several years during the course of the film while they struggle with current relationships and confide in each other. Story is predictable but smart with director Rob Reiner avoiding the clichés and settling for clever conversation between people as oppose to props. Crystal tries to figure out what went wrong in his quest for happiness while Ryan pretends to have it all together but underneath she is fragile. They have superb comic chemistry even though we know where they are headed. Bruno Kirby and Carrie Fisher appear as their friends who seem to have it all together but a double date takes their subplot in a different direction. Harley Jane Kozak appears briefly as Harry's ex-wife, which draws feelings of grief that are only subsided with Sally. Not one of Reiner's best films, which include This is Spinal Tap and The Princess Bride but it is entertaining and enlightening rising above road movie clichés. Intelligent film about how genders view each other. In the end we are glad Harry met Sally. Score: 9 / 10.

A young couple take a trip from Chicago to New York and then separate but meet several times over the ensuing years. Billy's character (Harry) has to have sex with all women because he cannot commit to any relationships. Meg Ryan plays Sally, a good republican midwest girl who thinks she knows what she wants for her life, but is dumped many times and deeply hurt from her relationships. We all have relationships that suffer from some of these trials and tribulations, but do we offer the truth to each other in order to make things right. Harry explains at the end of the movie everything that he loves about Sally which is a revelation to not only him, but Sally too. This is one of my favorite romantic movies to watch year after year. After being married for 27 now, this movie is now part of our lives and always will be. So I hope that you will enjoy this movie as well as we have over the last twenty years.

Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan become friends during college. Crystal is involved with her best friend but they end up sharing a long car ride home. Story jump ahead several years during the course of the film while they struggle with current relationships and confide in each other. Story is predictable but smart with director Rob Reiner avoiding the clichés and settling for clever conversation between people as oppose to props. Crystal tries to figure out what went wrong in his quest for happiness while Ryan pretends to have it all together but underneath she is fragile. They have superb comic chemistry even though we know where they are headed. Bruno Kirby and Carrie Fisher appear as their friends who seem to have it all together but a double date takes their subplot in a different direction. Harley Jane Kozak appears briefly as Harry's ex-wife, which draws feelings of grief that are only subsided with Sally. Not one of Reiner's best films, which include This is Spinal Tap and The Princess Bride but it is entertaining and enlightening rising above road movie clichés. Intelligent film about how genders view each other. In the end we are glad Harry met Sally. Score: 9 / 10.
