Below my expectations. Suppose the disastrous erruption was kept far way behind the scnene. The core is strongly focus on the "rescue" mission in which i think the emphasis was bluntly executed. The pulling in of the westerner and the Chinese into the play just not adequately boost up the hype to gain excitement. I noticed most of the facial expression in the movie is very "plastic" except for my idol BHLee. 這電影劇情既緊張又刺激，含有感人的親情，愛國情操…等等.然後和其他英雄片一樣，地震那麼大，主角都不會死！！！最有感的就是李秉憲飾演的李準平了，他也太會演！！！（驚）.

This movie was trash right from the start with ridiculously exaggerated disaster effects, ludicrously incompetent Sth Korean military, miraculous survival of the main characters and a blatant 'self-sacrifice redemption of the bad guy' movie trope. Dude this was good definitely deserved some big screen time. I read the book, it's a page turner! And then you add my favorite actress Julianne Moore, it's a win/ win.
