Chhapaak Movie Synopsis CHHAPAAK is the story of an acid attack survivor. The year is 2005. Malti (Deepika Padukone) is a 19 year old girl who gets attacked by acid on a street in Delhi. A good Samaritan takes her to the hospital. Her face is irreparably burnt, with no chance of it CHHAPAAK is the story of an acid attack survivor. Her face is irreparably burnt, with no chance of it getting back to its original form. Malti however is determined to get the perpetrator behind the bars. Despite difficulty in speaking at the time of the tragedy, she manages to tell the cops that the attacker is Babban Shaikh aka Babbu (Vishal Dahiya) and her sister Parveen. The cops arrest both and Babbu confesses that he indeed got the acid thrown on Malti. Shockingly, Babbu was a family friend of Malti's and even made the rounds of the hospital to visit her, post the attack. In the court, Malti’s lawyer Archana Bajaj (Madhurjeet Sarghi) gives a tough fight but Babbu manages to seek bail on some grounds or the other. Archana stresses on maximum punishment though the law is not clear on acid attacks specifically. This prompts Malti to also file a PIL, asking for ban on the easy availability of acids. What happens next forms the rest of the film. Level 1 I wonder how does this change the power dynamics of Bollywood leading actresses. As far as solo openings go, Kangana and Alia are ahead. I would Alia is even ahead of Kangana and can cement her place as top leading actress with Gangubai, Kangana has her pull and even Judgmental Hai Kya opened higher than Chhapak. On the other hand The Sky Is Pink's performance shows that the PC has no solo star power. Rani is super impressive and also has her own franchise with the Mardaani and she is also well capable of a 50+crore lifetime gross on her own. level 2 Tbh I feel PC no longer has any skin in the game but that's for lack of trying. I think she's truly looking to find a place in Hollywood, whatever that might be, and has stopped competing for numero uno status in Bollywood. level 1 From where it is, it has one weekend of 10cr maybe and then it will be out. Tanhaji is actually taking over empty halls that Chhapaak gives out. So Tanhaji has 3 more weeks before Malang comes out.
