YouTube. Incredibly beautiful, isn't it. Is there another version of this video? Incredible music! How Bernstein kept all the different plots going in his head-just amazing. Listening jazz in the morning is one of the best thing of my life.
Less than 4 hours ago, I just watched them in An American in Paris: The Musical that's aired 2018 with Rob... I saw it on PBS Demand magnificent and I'm buying it. Recorded on December 21, 1958; the Rhapsody in Blue/An American In Paris album was originally released in the fall of 1959. I come here from time to time, especially when I feel down about the state of our humanity and where I am in my own life. Each and every time I hear Beethovens Symphony No. 9, I wonder to myself: Has anything better? more majestic, glorious and divine? been written since 1824 (195 years ago) in music or otherwise? I struggle to think of anything that has exceeded this amazing creation from a man who was completely deaf and reportedly in turmoil with his own inner demons. The realization that something this great could be created, even during ones darkest moments of struggle and despair, inspires and lifts me and gives me hope that theres always hope for this thing we call humanity and for us as individuals.
Doing a research paper on Nietzsche and decided to listen to this while writing.
Stanley Kubrick brought me here. Heart gushes at 10:35.

I came here for Robbie Fairchild! He's so gorgeous

Brubeck, Desmond and all this will live forever. How lucky we are to live in a time when music can be recorded and played back! What I mean is, with classical symphonies it takes me something like 10-20 listens before I even begin to really get to know a piece. Even a relatively simple symph like say Beet's 1st sounds unfamiliar the first time you hear it, so I wonder what the audience made of Mov.1 of this, on first hearing? It tosses and turns like one of those nights you just can't get to sleep, and the beat keeps shifting just when you think you've caught it. Apart from the musicians themselves, how many people, back in 1825, would get the chance to become familiar with it as a whole? You'd have to go and see it played live numerous times. Now we just press Play and there it is, anytime we want it. Mind you, in one way maybe that's a good thing: I've only ever been to one classical concert, and even though I didn't know the music, I got very moved by it and found it hard to remain composed and quiet like you're supposed to at such concerts. I couldn't go and see this played, I would get chucked out for crying or throwing my arms about like a madman.
Gershwin è semplicemente magnifico. BRAVO! This was fucking fantastic. An American in Paris Movie (1951) - Gene Kelly, Leslie Caron - video dailymotion. I came here for music homework. Good choice, music teacher, good choice. Such a great song.? It lends itself to so many interpretations, blues-jazz-rock-rap, from banjo to sax, to me in the shower.? This is a beautiful rendition.? ?:>. Thank you for uploading! Been looking for this live version. Beware of Old Man Trouble with his glowing red eyes. Amazeing Sound. Bring back the Big Bands. Such great sound. legend.

This kind of still has a modern feel to it

Have you realised Gershwin died the same age as Mozart. Don't get me wrong but. the rest is just the same, isn't it? IT'S A JOOOOOKE. The color is great, although the sets are greatly romanticized. Paris isn't quite that neat and clean. Gene Kelly was a magnificent dancer and a fair singer. He makes dancing look so easy that I could do it- and I can't dance at all. Oscar Levant's dream scene at the piano is simply brilliant and offsets his poor acting. The Gershwin music is magnificent- what more can one say about it? Leslie Caron is- well, Leslie Caron. I was in love with her the first time I saw her in a movie, more than 50 years ago. Nina Foch is quite pretty, but she plays a role that we've seen too often.
There are many good things here, and yet somehow the very nice pieces never quite fit together. Perhaps the dumb love story is part of the difficulty. It's downright silly. Or perhaps it is the overdone artist's ball. Or perhaps it is the impossible ballet at the end with all those costume changes in mid-dance. All I know is that this remains in pieces and doesn't work for me as a whole.
Calvin: What's this? Hobbes: Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture. Calvin: I kinda like it. Interesting percussion section. Hobbes: Those are cannons. Calvin: And they perform this in crowded concert halls? Gee, I always thought Classical music was boring. There is definitely a fine line between ordinary and extra ordinary, great song. I enjoyed this film a lot but I was not impressed with the leading lady, Leslie Caron. She and Gene danced well together (in the "Our Love is Here to Stay" but her acting ability was lacking. I know it was her film debut but. I did enjoy Georges Guétary. I sing I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise in the shower. He, Gene, and Oscar made the movie for me. They were a terrific trio. As I said before the musical numbers were great. Minnelli's direction really lead the way. A nice Freed Unit musical.
I dug out from my garage some old musicals and this is another one of my favorites. It was written by Jay Alan Lerner and directed by Vincent Minelli. It won two Academy Awards for Best Picture of 1951 and Best Screenplay. The story of an American painter in Paris who tries to make it big. Nina Foch is a sophisticated lady of means and is very interested in helping him, but soon finds she loves the guy. Meanwhile Gene Kelly falls for lovely damsel, Leslie Caron. His main dancing partner, and I must say they are fantastic together on the floor and otherwise. Famous French singer Georges Guietary sings, too. So if you like good smooth dancing and fun filled scenes filled with Oscar Levant's nimble piano fingers, the songs of George Gershwyn will live on forever in this colorful gem. 8/10.
I can't describe how I felt after playing the last note of this piece. I just remember feeling a lot of power flowing through my body during the last movement, and then after the last note I just leaned in the back of my seat feeling amazed and also empty. Maestrazo INMORTAL. DAMASO PEREZ PRADO (composer) from Mexico latinoamerican power. I love Gene Kelly! <3?His dance movie are simply spectacular! <3 His voice warms my heart and makes me smile. Definitely one of my all time favorite actors! <3.
