There's not a weekend that goes by without me listening to INSX albums RIP always Michael ?. Hutchence oozes cool... What a frontman. Mystify: Michael Hutchence is a 2019 documentary?film about the life of musician, actor and singer-songwriter Michael?Hutchence, lead vocalist of the Australian rock band INXS. It is written and directed by Richard?Lowenstein and relies primarily on rare archive footage, outtakes, private home?video and audio commentary provided by friends, ex-partners, band members, record producers and family. An Australian-British venture, the film was co-produced by Ghost Pictures, Passion?Pictures with Madman?Entertainment and Dogwoof serving as distributors. It is in association with Baird Films and Film?Victoria. Mystify: Michael Hutchence had its world premiere at the Tribeca?Film?Festival on 25 April 2019, and was theatrically released in Australia on 4 July 2019. [4] [7] The film was released in the United Kingdom on 18 October receiving generally positive reviews from critics. Synopsis Mystify covers the life of INXS lead singer Michael Hutchence which features private home video and archive footage. During the relationship between Minogue and Hutchence, previously unseen privately shot footage shows them in Hong?Kong?harbour, on board the orient?express, and at Hutchence’s home in the south of France. In the early 1990’s an incident occurred while bicycling on holiday in Copenhagen with then girlfriend Helena?Christensen, where Hutchence gets shoved to the ground by a taxi?driver, hitting his head on the curb and losing consciousness. According to Christensen, Hutchence was rushed to hospital and woke up determined to leave. The injury resulted in Hutchence having permanent loss of sense of smell and taste. Clips show Yates and Michael Hutchence in a 1985 interview on Channel?4 's rock magazine programme The?Tube and many years later on The?Big?Breakfast interview in October 1994. Recollections with voice-overs in the film include Michele Bennett, Kylie?Minogue, siblings Rhett and Tina Hutchence, father Kelland Hutchence, stepmother Susie, producer Nick?Launay, Bono and INXS band members, composer and keyboardist Andrew?Farriss, guitarist Tim?Farriss, bassist Garry?Gary?Beers and drummer Jon?Farriss. The film ends with INXS performing at London’s Wembley?Stadium and the song "Mystify" plays over the credits. Production Development Plans for a biographical drama?film about Michael Hutchence were being developed with a script written by Australian film-maker Richard Lowenstein. Lowenstein had previously collaborated with Hutchence in Dogs?in?Space and INXS music?videos. The film was to feature an actor as Hutchence, however the idea of casting someone proved very difficult and with the announcement of the miniseries INXS:?Never?Tear?Us?Apart, it made the director switch to an archival documentary. [8] The documentary film gathered early development funding and support by the Australian?Broadcasting?Corporation (ABC), Screen?Australia and Film?Victoria. [9] A pitch?trailer was produced and shown at the 2016 Australian?International?Documentary?Conference in Melbourne where BBC?Music took interest. [9] In July 2016, it was announced that a documentary film about the singer-songwriter Michael Hutchence had the official support of INXS band members and manager Chris?Murphy, with Richard Lowenstein signed on to direct. [10] [11] [12] [13] The director conducted the first interview (for the biopic research) in 2010 with U2 lead singer Bono who were on tour in Melbourne. Band members from INXS were then interviewed and filmed in 2011, gradually building up an archive of footage. [14] [15] During the interview process, Lowenstein had decided to record just the audio, having individual interviewees in a dark recording?studio. A total of around sixty people were interviewed. [16] [15] Tapes of archival footage of varying quality were found in the directors attic lost for twenty years. [15] In October 2017, long negotiations began for the rights to use INXS music in the film, but ended with no deal due to a dispute with Murphy of Petrol Records over the documentary’s ownership in return. This lead the director to produce an edit of the film with no music from the INXS catalogue. [15] Eventually, Lowenstein made contact with Hutchence’s daughter Tiger Lily (the daughter of Hutchence and Paula?Yates) in London, through Susie Hutchence’s advice. Lowenstein flew to London in October 2018 to meet. After viewing a rough cut of the film, Tiger Lily made contact with the band’s management and record company. A day later, a deal was struck to use nine INXS tracks. [15] The post-production and supervision of the film were completed by United Finishing Artists with the sound mixing done at Soundfirm, Melbourne. [17] Music Composer Warren?Ellis was in charge of the film's music and score. [18] The documentary features various digitally-restored tracks which were remixed by Giles?Martin in Dolby?Atmos supplied by INXS. Music also included are by Hutchence, Max?Q with Ollie?Olsen, Kylie?Minogue, Nick?Cave, instrumentals by Ólafur?Arnalds and Nils?Frahm. [19] The film includes tracks, such as: " Never?Tear?Us?Apart " and " Sometimes ". [20] Lowenstein stated that there has been no official soundtrack album released, [15] however, a complementary album was released on 5 July 2019 titled Mystify:?A?Musical?Journey?with?Michael?Hutchence. Release The world premiere of Mystify: Michael Hutchence took place in Manhattan at the Tribeca?Film?Festival on 25 April 2019, including a live Q&A session with the film’s director after the screening. [21] Over the next few months it played in festivals around Canada, Australia, Czech Republic, Germany and New Zealand, building anticipation: at the Hot?Docs in Toronto, Sydney, Munich and New?Zealand?Film?Festivals. [22] [23] [24] [25] Advance screenings with Lowenstein in attendance for special Q&A sessions followed in June, at the Astor?Theatre in Melbourne, Ritz?Cinema in Sydney and the European premiere held at the Karlovy?Vary?International?Film?Festival. [26] [27] [28] An official trailer was released on 4 June 2019 and featured the songs " Mystify " and " Never?Tear?Us?Apart " by INXS. [29] [30] It was released in cinemas across Australia on 4 July and in New?Zealand on 12 September through Madman Entertainment. [31] Initially the film was screened out of competition during the BFI?London?Film?Festival on 4 October 2019 at the Curzon?Mayfair?Cinema [32] [33] and then released in the United Kingdom on 18 October through Dogwoof. The Netherlands saw a release on 24 October by Piece of Magic entertainment. [34] [35] In the United States Fathom?Events and Shout!?Factory will theatrically release the film for one-night-only on 7 January 2020. [36] Broadcast In Australia, the documentary was aired by ABC?Television during 24 November 2019. [37] Channel BBC?Two aired the film in the UK on 28 December. [38] Home media It was released on DVD, digital and Blu-ray disc in Australia by Madman Entertainment on 25 November 2019. [39] It contains twelve special features including early days - where they discuss the band’s formation, acting, discussing Prague where three INXS music videos were filmed and Professor of Psychiatry, Steve Ellen’s analyses into Hutchence’s death. [40] Dogwoof released the film in the U. K. and Ireland on 9 December. A melhor música deles. Que temazo. Full movie mystify. tras el cantante de inxs video. Six years before INXS frontman Michael Hutchence tragically ended his life, he enjoyed a short but intense relationship with pop princess Kylie Minogue. The Australian sweetheart shared intimate details of her relationship with the troubled rockstar between 1989 and 1991 for the documentary Mystify: Michael Hutchence. Richard Lowenstein's film features love letters the young couple sent to one another by fax while they were touring, and never-before-seen personal footage of the pair. Minogue described the moment Hutchence eventually broke her heart - just like she knew he would - when he called her to New York to break up with her for no apparent reason. 'The room was dark, the curtains were drawn, he was on all fours on the floor, crying, ' she said in the film. A new documentary about legendary Australian rockstar Michael Hutchence (left) has led his former lover Kylie Minogue (right) to reveal more about their romance than she ever has before Chemistry: An insight into Kylie Minogue and Michael Hutchence's sexually charged relationship was given in scenes from a new documentary painting an intimate portrait of the late INXS frontman's life 'Was it work, was it the drugs? I don't know. He was like a broken man. ' He was on all fours on the She said the heartbreak took a long time to get over, but it was one she saw coming even when the pair were smitten and sending each other secret love notes from different parts of the world. Both touring consistently, the couple would fax one another from their hotel rooms using the aliases Gabby Jones and Swordfish. 'Jones was my mother's maiden name and Gabby was my dog. He was swordfish, well, just because. ' The pop princess said she would wait on receiving her fax for the day just to see his handwriting and what message - whether sweet or mundane - he'd written her. The documentary featured racy clips of the young couple naked and loved up. Pictured: Kylie naked and posing for the camera They hoped the secret code names would prevent receptionists and hotel staff from reading their love letters. Minogue said while the pair were often separated due to conflicting schedules, their time together was electrifying. 'Sex, love, food, drugs, music, travel, books, you name it, he wanted to experience it, ' Minogue said of their whirlwind relationship. 'As his partner I got to experience a lot of that as well. If you're a sensual being, all of your senses need stimulation. He definitely awakened my desire for things in my world. ' The documentary featured never-before-seen footage of Hutchence and Minogue during their time together. 'She (Minogue) has spoken before but never like this, let me tell you (it's) totally uncensored, ' the film's director said of the popstar's candidness about her relationship with Hutchence (The pair are pictured at the Chanel Haute Couture collection in 1992) 'Mystify: Michael Hutchence' features a series of interviews with those who were closest to the INXS frontman (pictured) throughout his life, including pop princess Kylie Minogue (right) One of the clips Minogue shared showed intimate moments of her naked and others of the pair on a boat during a romantic getaway. She said the public perception that she was a 'pure, good girl dating this dark, bad boy' was pretty accurate, but despite it all, she felt 'safe with him'. 'I felt protected, ' she said.?'He had insatiable curiosity, all the good things in life and some the bad. ' 'He opened up a whole new world for me. A lot of it was based around pleasure, let's face it. ' But the relationship was never built to last. Minogue said while she hadn't expected to be with Hutchence forever, when the end came it completely broke her heart. 'It felt loving, yet sad and probably doomed. We talked through things and I couldn't give you an actual reason [as to why it happened]. 'I left pretty confounded and destroyed and I knew that was it. Yeah, he broke my heart. I have to confess, the hurt stays for quite a long time, ' she said. After the split, the neighbours alumni went on to have a series of high profile relationships with actors and performers. Hutchence also went on to find love with British television personality Paula Yates. On the night of his death Hutchence spoke to his partner Paula Yates (pictured) and asked her about travelling to Australia with their 16-month-old daughter Tiger Lily Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates attending a screening of 'The Birdcage' at Planet Hollywood in London, 15th April 1996 The married mother-of-three first met Hutchence almost a decade earlier, when he and his band were just taking off. After their first interaction, she allegedly said to his tour manager: 'I'm going to have that boy'. In 1994, nine years after they first met, they began having an affair. Yates was married to Sir Bob Geldof at the time and the couple had three children. They were considered showbusiness royalty. When she so openly left the relationship and broke his heart, the public turned on her. But those close to Hutchence say their relationship changed him for the better and made him happier than he'd been in a long time. At the time, he was in a depressive spiral which may have been worsened by a freak accident which left him without his sense of smell and a diminished sense of taste. Yates is pictured walking into Hutchence's funeral carrying their young daughter Tiger Lily and being comforted by a friend Hutchence (back row, left) with INXS band members, clockwise from top right: Andrew Farriss, Tim Farriss, Garry Gary Beers, Kirk Pengilly, and Jon Farriss Martha Troup, the INXS band manager at the time, said she regularly fielded calls from Hutchence where he declared his love for Yates. 'He said ''Martha, she's beautiful. Martha, I've never loved somebody like that. '' It was magical. It just was something that changed him completely, ' she said in the Mystify documentary. I've never loved somebody like that. Michael Hutchence on Paula Yates But that relationship, too, turned tumultuous. The couple were embroiled in a nasty custody battle with Geldof over Yates' eldest three daughters, and after the birth of their daughter, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, in 1996, the nanny found a stash of opioids and heroin in their home. They denied the drugs were theirs. The public had turned on them, and Yates struggled to cope after spending so many years being adored. Michael Hutchence with his daughter Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence returned to Australia expecting his partner and young daughter to follow him across the pond for a three-month holiday, but he never saw them again. On November 22 1997, Hutchence was found hanging by his snakeskin belt in his Sydney hotel room. A post-mortem examination found alcohol, cocaine, codeine, Prozac, Valium and other prescribed benzodiazepines - or 'benzos' - in Hutchence's urine and blood. He left no suicide note. Three years later, on September 17 2000, Yates was found dead in her home. She died of an accidental heroin overdose while Tiger Lily was at home with her. Sir Bob Geldof was awarded custody of Tiger Lily and her three half sisters after Yates death and legally adopted her in 2007. Hutchence's brother Rhett (left) has in recent years suggested Michael (right) could have been killed by someone else. A coroner found that the famous singer?hanged himself with his snake skin belt Explained: The love triangle between Michael Hutchence, Paula Yates and Sir Bob Geldof Paula Yates had always made her personal struggles known. She confessed she first began snorting heroin and lost her virginity aged 12 and was a familiar face on the London party scene by 14. One interviewer once described her as 'a smart girl who made a career out of pretending to be an airhead, ' according to T he Irish Times. When she met Bob Geldof in her late teens, the pair enjoyed an intense relationship which people thought would burn out fast. But the pair built a life together and had three children before she simply 'fell out of love with him' - and in love with Michael Hutchence. When she finally left Geldof after 19 years together, he never denied that she broke his heart. 'I loved her profoundly. I didn't understand then that love is not enough, ' he said of the break up. Yates had three daughters with Geldof and was embroiled in a bitter custody battle with him when she fell pregnant with Hutchence first child - a daughter they named?Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily. A few months after Tiger Lily's birth in 1996, her nanny found a stash of opioids and heroin in the house. The couple denied the drugs ever belonged to them. The following year, Hutchence was dead. The coroner ruled he had died by hanging himself with his belt in a hotel room. Three years later, Yates also died by accidental heroin overdose. Tiger Lily was alone in the home with her at the time. A year before her death during a 1999 interview, she said: 'It's only the mothering instinct that makes you willing to suffer every day. I know it sounds like a Victorian novel, but it's true. Right now I still think living is a noble gesture. ' Sir Bob Geldof was granted custody of all three of his biological daughters, as well as Tiger Lily. Seven years later, in 2007, he legally adopted her. Many of Hutchence friends and family traced the steep decline of his mental health back to the brutal attack he was subjected to five years before his death, in 1992. He had been out in Denmark with his then girlfrie
