This was always advertised as a concert, because Queens theatre is being refurbished and changed to accommodate the tour version, as opposed to the original production. Therefore, you being disappointed in the lack of physical acting/light effects is your own fault for not realising what you were going to see. The purpose of the concert is to showcase the voices and the orchestra, along with facial acting. I went last Saturday and the experience was so good, descriptions do not do it justice. Michael Ball shines as Javert, if you fail to hear that I would recommend an ear check. Of course tickets will be expensive when its an all-star cast (Alfie Boe/John Owen Jones, Michael Ball, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Matt Lucas, Katy Secombe, Rob Houchen and Bradley Jaden being probably the people in the world with the most experience with the show.) In the past you may have been lucky to see one of two of them in the same production, but now they are all together and it is magical to behold so much talent on one stage. For anyone who has the chance, do yourself a favour and go see it, as this will never happen again. I hope with all my heart that they have recorded it.
