True fiction reynard seidel. True fiction movie. True manufacturing company refrigerator. Has there ever been a series that was that loved, and then crashed and burned that quickly or that hard? Game of Thrones: Hold my mead... 1. Last Knights (2015 film, dir. Kazuaki Kiriya. Loyal knights must navigate the world after the noble house they serve is brought down by a corrupt advisor to the emperor. The film takes place in a European-inspired setting, but seems based upon the Japanese legend of the forty-seven ronin. I had never heard of this film before seeing it come up randomly as a Netflix suggestion; although apparently critically panned, I really, really liked it. It's a steady-paced film, more of a character-based story than an overstuffed action drama. It doesn't feel the need to have punching and stabbing every five minutes to keep your interest, but it is nonetheless compelling. It looks great, with lush costumes and scenery. I will definitely watch it again. My only real critique is that women's roles are fairly paltry. (NB: if the presence of non-white people in a vaguely European-ish setting makes you wet yourself, you'll want to avoid this movie. 2. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. In the Bronx, sixteen-year-old Aaron Soto is still processing his father's suicide several months prior. He has a girlfriend but is questioning whether his feelings for his new friend Thomas are purely platonic or something more. Overwhelmed by doubt and grief he considers undergoing radical memory alteration from the controversial Leteo Institute, but this may not be the easy answer to his problems he hopes it will be. This book toes the line of being fantasy (the memory tech of the Leteo (Spanish for "lethe" Institute is total fiction) but I'm counting it. The story is moving, swift-paced, and the first-person prose efficiently illustrates Aaron's life, interior and exterior. However, the book left me somewhat cold: the story is a tragedy, and while I definitely think tragic, sad, or dark stories with LGBTQ characters and themes are still relevant- and that people too blithely invoke the "bury your gays" criticism against these stories, especially when they are written by #ownvoices authors- I'm just not interested in them right now. If I had read this book thirty years ago it would have spoken to me much more. Additionally, I was ticked at myself for not figuring out the mid-book twist ahead of time. A good book but not for me. 3. Love in the Time of Global Warming by Lia Francesca Block. After a mysterious apocalyptic event devastates the United States, seventeen-year-old Penelope must navigate the dangerous landscape in search of her family. Along the way she gains a found family, and together they must puzzle out the weird secrets of their new world. This book has lyric prose and interesting characters, but ultimately I never connected with it. It comes off as overly precious and somewhat cloying. I'm sure that the many literary references- Homer's Odyssey is a major influence, but the title invokes Gabriel García Márquez, there are references to Ezra Pound, et. al. come from a place dear to the author's heart, but I ultimately found them tiresome. For example, not only is the story heavily inspired by Homer, but characters actually read from The Odyssey as they go along. I'm sure the book will speak to many readers, but by the end I was like, enough. 4. Elric: The Stealer of Souls (Chronicles of the Last Emperor of Melniboné, Vol. 1) by Michael Moorcock. A collection of some of the early stories from the 60s about the goth albino sorcerer prince Elric and his sentient demon sword. The Elric stories have been on my TBR pile for a long time. I read the first two and then I was done. I enjoy pulpy, gonzo stories with a decadent atmosphere, but I found the prose so sloppily purple it almost stained my fingers. There are more adjectives and adverbs than nouns and verbs. I did like some of the imagery, especially of the sybaritic dreaming city, and I understood why people are fond of the stories and of Elric as a character, but there was nothing in what I read that I haven't seen done better by (say) Peake, Harrison, or Vance. A pass for me. 5. Picard (2020 tv series- first episode. In the latest iteration of Star Trek to hit the air, Jean-Luc Picard must leave the sanctuary of his French villa to unravel the mysteries of a young android and Romulan machinations. I watched the first episode, which is streaming free on YouTube (in the U. S. the rest of the series requires a paid CBS subscription. My reaction was an overwhelming meh. Since the Abrams 2009 reboot (well, since the TNG movies, really) it seems like the primary way of telling a Trek story is with punching and kicking and shooting, and honestly I'm rather over it. I'm not opposed to action, even to action schlock- I liked the 2009 movie, even though it was tissue-thin, and though I had issues with it I thought the first season of Discovery had a lot going for it, especially for a Trek first season- but these iterations of Trek lately seem to be all about violent pageantry first and foremost, and that isn't a substitute for good storytelling. I imagine this is partly fueled by the immense budgets and CGI tech available; I'm not in favor of censorship or anything, but sometimes limitations can inspire creativity. Also, particular to Picard, the idea that Starfleet and the Federation would let 900 million Romulans die because "Romulans are bad" just beggars the imagination. It's a shockingly bad take; even in "dark" Trek, like the Dominion War or some of Voyager's back-against-the-wall stories, the genocide of millions of people would not have been okay. Even Kirk's "let them die" attitude towards the Klingons in Star Trek VI was at least inspired by personal grief, and even then he ultimately knew it wasn't okay. I gave up on Discovery when it spectacularly shit the bed in season two, and didn't regret it; likewise, unless I hear that Picard changes course (I'd love to hear from anyone who's seen other episodes) I'm not inspired to want to pay to see the rest of the season. (Just to clarify: I do NOT think that NuTrek, Discovery, or Picard are somehow "not real Trek. and I do NOT think that if you like Picard, et. al., that you somehow are "not a true Trek fan. That attitude, which I've seen online, is complete horseshit. You can have a grumpy or critical take and not be a gatekeeper...

Now you're acting nutty again. Please tell us all what nasty things specifically the UN has done. When you try to specify this, it will become obvious to everyone listening that you're a nutcake, probably religious or right-wing nationalist nazi type pissed about his nation's sovereignty... Climate change is simply more descriptive of what is going on, since global warming can be confused with local weather, which may appear to contradict it, whereas climate is a worldwide phenomenon. I love this series of vids. Keep 'em coming. True tssu6016. Yes yes yes. I tried to explain all of this to people 27 years ago when I was in high school. I couple years later, I remember a college professor scoffing when another student mentioned it in the same breath as quality pop culture storytelling. I've finally become old enough to ignore stupid people and their stupid opinions. I WAS FUCKING RIGHT ABOUT TWIN PEAKS. There could be nothing more satisfying than knowing that without Twin Peaks, there would be no Northern Exposure, no X-Files, no Lost, no Fringe, no Breaking Bad, no Sopranos, no VERITABLE FLOOD of shows over decades trying to strike a cinematic, tonal, and mysterious chord of absolutely solid, artistic writing. I remember recording every episode in order because it would be so much fun to watch them all in order in a time where there was no bingeing anything on television in any way- and I still fucking have those tapes (I have no other tapes from that time; none) Good god I'd like to march right down to every idiot who said Twin Peaks was nonsense and shout, Oh yeah? It was such nonsense that it spawned decades of better and better television to the point that fucking SHOWTIME is producing 18 brand new episodes 27 years later! Twin Peaks has literally spawned ITSELF, fuckers! That's how bad it was! So far ahead of its time it CREATED the future of television. (Sorry about the language. I'm still mad about it being cancelled all those years ago...

I remember there being a similar scene in Children of the Corn by Stephen King (the original from the 80s. Burt and Vicky (played by Linda Hamilton) were looking at a road map while driving when all of a sudden there was a boy, Job (biblical spelling) standing in the road (already dead from being murdered by Malachai. And the man being murdered in the gas station also happened in the movie as well (Children of the Corn. So I'm wondering if we're going to get any more callbacks to Stephen King's movies/books this season. Which I would love to see.

Never knew this was based on a true story. &ref(https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/ee/Adrift_(2018_film).png) Background by /u/Kitchen_Ur_Lies Marlanna Evans, better known as Rapsody, is a 36-year-old rapper from North Carolina primarily known for her affiliation and work with local producer 9th Wonder. After meeting her in 2004 while rapping with one of her earlier groups, Kooley High, he would sign her to his label in 2008. This led to the release of her debut mixtape, Return of the B-Girl in 2010, which would spark her collaborative work with artists such as DJ Premier and Mac Miller. Her sassy yet nimble delivery on this project gives her the versatility to deliver choppy and hard-hitting bars on Win while also making heads spin with her souled-out onslaught on Blankin Out. The project would bode well for her budding career, drawing early comparisons to female emcees of Lauryn Hill and MC Lyte. However, this qualifier of best female emcee would be the very item shed like to eliminate from her name in rap conversations, as she aimed to be one of the greatest emcees, full stop. She would go on to progress her rhyme patterns into rooted life experiences on her second mixtape, Thank H. E. R. Now. With a much more fleshed out tracklisting, she was able to score collaborations with the likes of Big K. I. T., Raekwon, and her second song with Mac Miller, whom she joined on his Incredibly Dope Tour in 2011. Rapsodys early work would open her circles to fellow newly acclaimed acts, including Kendrick Lamar, planting the seeds for collabs in the years to come. 2012 saw the long awaited release of her debut album, The Idea of Beautiful. Advancing her potential seen on previous releases, Rapsody weaves an auditory essay on the essence of beauty. The light boom bap and catch up presence throughout the album lays as a canvas for the poetry that unfolds, with highlights such as Roundtable Discussion and NonFiction. Dotted across the project is singer Nomsa Mazwai, who is showcased on the cover art and lent Rapsody the inspiration for the title and message of the album. The matured yet idealistic insight on the definition of beauty is something that is no stranger to her work and life experience. This project could be looked at as the kindling for something like Eve, which tackles the balance between being confident in her work and comfortable in her skin, and invoking that same stride into her peers and fellow black women. Dropping two more projects in the coming years with She Got Game and the Beauty and the Beast EP, her time came to speak on themes and principles of beauty by securing one of two featured rap verses on what is considered the peak of 2010s hip hop, To Pimp A Butterfly. No stranger to working with Kendrick, her contribution on Complexion (A Zulu Love) illuminates the systematic issues associated with colorism when defining beauty. Normalized beauty standards have taken aim at minimizing features from black people, including brown eyes and dark skin. She raps about feeling the need to cover her body in bleach cream at age eight to closer align herself with the arbitrary standards, then finally enforcing her dark side like a young George Lucas. This placement on such a celebrated work led to great interest in Rapsodys career leading up to that point, and the imminent future. Eyes were set and glued on her upcoming projects, including a signing to Jay-Zs Roc Nation by 2016. The first project to come during her Roc Nation career was Crown, a succinct yet remarkable entry in her discography coming in at a low 10 tracks, with highlights Gonna Miss You and OooWee. Two years of careful crafting culminated in the consecutive Lailas Wisdom, a purist panorama of the worldview for black women today. Paying homage to her grandmother Laila, Rapsody weaves together the topics of Southern life, police brutality, love, and blackness into one of her most acclaimed efforts to date. Accents of funk, R&B, and jazz find their presence necessary to tie the themes she tackles with such grace. A soulful intro into Lailas Wisdom aims to give the listener the Power to understand her message. The features assembled to fill their place in Rapsodys message cannot be understated, managing to bring out a patois Kendrick Lamar and a standout Black Thought verse. Busta Rhymes who made an appearance on [ You Should Know. praised this as the best album hes heard from a female MC period, but the best in the last 10 years. Receiving a storm of acclaim from several publications, Rapsody managed to receive nominations for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song at the 60th Annual Grammys, though losing to DAMN and HUMBLE. Coming off the heels of such a monumental moment in her career, Rapsody furthered her attempts to scrub the qualifier of “female” to her name when listing great MCs. Besides sharpening her pen with guest appearances on projects such as 9ths Jamla Is The Squad II, an epiphany shaped the vision behind her forthcoming project. While being profiled for Oxford American, interviewer and poet L. Lamar Wilson played Nina Simone and Roberta Flack to stage the interview. What came about was the realization that Rapsody was the very extension of these fellow North Carolina artists and more. That same night, it inspired her to create a song which would later flourish into the concept for an entire album; celebrating the work and lives of black women. The timing of this project coincides at a time where the discussion is being had about what it means to be a black woman in America, and at a time where Rapsody has grasped her abilities as a lyricist and performer to convey her story in all its glory, through pain, power, and pride. Review by /u/Kitchen_Ur_Lies Clocking in at just over an hour with 16 tracks, Rapsody lays the foundation for the listener to become grounded in her perspective. Generations of black women act as conduits for Rapsodys ideas to be illustrated, with each being celebrated in their own respective right. 9th Wonder handles executive and sometimes literal production on this project, brimming each track with lush instrumentation and vocal samples that paint gusts of color for her words to represent. Some of these samples are incredibly high profile in stature, yet never manage to take away from the focal point herself, Rapsody. And while the album and its cover takes focus on Rapsody, it guides you to her through the tribulations of those that came before her. Anthemic in essence while uplifting in execution, the album commences the celebration with Nina. Nina Simone was quintessential blues singer and civil rights activist of her time. What Rapsody decided to take from her was the ability to reflect on herself and the times, as she quoted from Simone, “An artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times. ” Simone exemplified this herself by releasing Mississippi Goddam, a protest to the murder of Medgar Evers and the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham that claimed the lives of four black girls. This blacklisted Simone from the industry, but she prospered in empowerment nonetheless. Rapsody utilizes this track as a foundation for her own reflection within the industry. Simones rendition of Strange Fruit acts as a chilling canvas for Rapsody to lay down the facts. “Emit light, rap, or Emmett Till / I drew a line without showing my body, thats a skill. ” As a rapper in her lane attempting to bring light to atrocities and oppression, she feels her options are to rap on these subjects or get killed like Emmett Till, an innocent 14 year old who was lynched by grown men after a false accusation by a white woman. Rapsody has earned her placement in rap without giving in to sex appeal as well, because she wants her raps to speak for themselves, and this formula is what has brought her so far. Rapsody leaves the outro over the haunting instrumental for poet Reyna Biddy to shed light on her own perspective as a black woman, citing her pain, her feeling like prey, and how she wont be defeated. This resilience and firing back acts as a graceful segue into the next track with Cleo. Setting off the tone for Cleo we have Phil Collins In The Air Tonight to let us know Rapsody is in the building and isnt holding anything back. If you werent aware, Cleo is Queen Latifahs character in the 1996 movie Set It Off. The tomboyish yet “no-holds-barred” properties that she exudes in this role are invoked in Rapsody. She knows her place and isnt afraid to say it, “wonder how a bunch of sheep can have an opinion on a GOAT / dressed too tomboy, rap too lyrical. ” The way she dresses should have no effect on how people view her craft, yet it still finds its way as criticism she receives and attempts to take away from her status as a GOAT. One thing Cleo wasnt afraid of doing was sending shots, and neither is Rapsody after being brought down by someone some may look up to in the rap community. Charlamagne Tha God took to Twitter to claim Rapsody is an elite MC and better than 98% of living rappers, not long before Rap Radar co-host B. Dot claimed he was full of shit for such a statement. Not only is Rapsody handily capable of that claim and very deserving, but she effortlessly addresses this here without mentioning his name, since he cant seem to keep her name out of his mouth. In fact, she keeps it to “I don't take time to address opinions that ain't 9th, Dre, or Jay-Z / Only rap radars I need are them and the streets. ” This short list of just three collaborators is already noteworthy, all of whom look up to her as a great MC. And its not just her own people that want to cut her confidence short, its the very people who could help

I loved this segment and how it was put together. Great episode. I got so excited at the Ghostbusters reference. Of course the friends I watched with were like I need better friends. Team Silent Hill brought me here. I love Lynch, and everything he does. I don't even care if it makes sense, it really is just art. Non fiction books true stories. Wow you are so awesome at teaching and making me learn new things i always wanted to know. True fiction trailer. True fiction makeup. True fiction movie 2019. Love this channel so far. Host kinda reminds me of the host of Twilight zone. He needs a black fedora. The fact that they were so focused on the sandwich shows me that she was so nervous, she did everything wrong. Even how she was using the spreader was weird. Lily Rabe is supposed to be in the episode Lady in White.
True fiction goldberg. True fridge. Random theory: Judy being Sarah and Bob being Leland had a child Laura (the devil.) The nuke allowed the black lodge realm to permeate our own by first pumping out gases into the trees of twin peaks (photosynthesis) secondly spreading through fire and later spreading through electricity. The influence of the lodge also used the moth-frogs in order to hollow out the people of our world so they could be used to facilitate incoming lodge entities e.g. Judy. When Laura was taken into the lodge by wearing the ring her consciousness began to permeated the town of twin peaks in order to facilitate a collective suffering. Therefore they are all in a way living inside her dream. Once coop reversed her death her consciousness stopped permeating twin peaks. We see this as I believe Lynch shows us both realms of existence, one where Laura died in which some characters suffer and one where her consciousness doesn't permeate the town and characters are happy e.g. Norma, Dr Jacoby. In order for the fireman to defeat Judy he placed a Tulpa of Laura (the orb) into an alternative plain of existence. As time progresses in this Odessa reality (which I believe is also Laura's dream) the influence of Laura's conciseness becomes stronger as she slowly begins to become aware of her past life of pain and suffering. Cooper has unwanted sex with Diane to speed the process along bringing back her memory's of being raped by her father. When her past is finally confirmed the reality of who she is 'ends the world.' Or at least ends her consciousness/dream. As her dream ends the lodge has nothing to filter it's power through. Because she's only a Tulpa she disintegrates much like Diane's Tupla does when she realises what she is. All the negative energy is destroyed. The fireman needed cooper for her to remember. He sacrificed himself for the greater good. Judy and Bob only really exist in the mind of Laura so she can repress the reality that she was raped by her father while her mother acted ambivalent to her abuse (the horse is the white of the eyes.) No Laura, no Laura's dream, no evil. BUT what's real and what's not is kinda a never ending question.
I suscribes becase of you two. Loved the return, i wish u 2 do more content together. Tween fiction. True back bar beer cooler.
