Damn it... A day ago I was sitting at my desk in my office in Kiev, and now the Commander Kilenskiy sent me here to the Exclusion Zone to investigate the missing groups at the V. I. Lenin Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and Pripyat.\n\n My name is Priboi Slipchenko, I work for the Russian FSB, and the UA's Military Defenses Office. I have been highly trained for field work, but I am an office worm and this will be my first real assignment out in the Zone.\n What's worse is that case about the "UHSF".... I've been dreaming about it since last year, and having visions about that place too. It's a very complicated case, and it will take a lot of time to collect every missing data of the secret UHSF Organization. The other thing is, it's a secret case, and I can't talk to anyone about this mission, so I am left to carry this burden by my self..\n I am here now, and the case must be done, as requested by the HQ. There is this guy who came with me here, he was the driver... He wasn't so talkative so I couldn't get much out of him about the mission.\n I guess I will get the required information soon.

Well, well... I got some fresh air, saw the local wildlife, and I feel like I'm on vacation. I guess I needed this trip after the city-life, it's always nice to go to the rural parts of the country after staying cooped up in a city like Kiev or Moscow. I noticed some strange anomalies in the zone, but nobody want talk to me about them. Well, I should explore the area more, since I need to collect every usable piece of data about the case: pictures, ruins, documents, and other local folklores...

I met up with Fox. It's that bad news, good news scenario. The bad news is that he knows little about Strelok. The good news is that his brother, Seriy, knows more. It seems Seriy is in a hangar about 2 kilometers North of here, in some dump full of radioactive waste. My task is clear: Get there before he leaves.

俺は Fox と出会った。悪いニュースと良いニュースがある。悪いニュースってのは、奴が Strelok に関して、殆ど知らなかったということ。良いニュースってのは Seriy って名の奴の兄弟が、もう少し詳しく知っているということだ。Seriy はここからおよそ2km北へ向かった先にある、放射性廃棄物でいっぱいのゴミ捨て場の中にある格納庫にいるらしい。俺がやるべきことは明白、Seriy がいなくなる前にそこへ行くことだ。

Guide said he knew that "Doc" guy. He was hiding at Strelok's old hideout after the ambush at the Hotel in Pripyat city. Well, I guess he is not there by now, but I should go back for a visit again, maybe I will find something useful.

My hopes of learning something about Strelok must be put on hold for a while longer: Seriy sent me to meet a stalker called Mole, who apparently knows the location of Strelok's secret stash... If he's right, at least I would have something, who knows, maybe I'll learn something useful there, and if I find anything valuable, I can sell it to the traders for money. Who cares if Sidorovich knows a little bit more about this investigation than he's supposed to?

Strelok について何か分かるかもしれないという俺の望みは、しばらくお預けになるだろう。Seriy は俺に Mole というストーカーに会えと言った。もしそいつが正しければ、少なくとも何か分かるだろう…… おそらく何か役に立つものがあるはずだ。それが何かなんて誰にも分からないが。それに、金になるものがあればトレーダーに売りさばけばちょっとした小遣い稼ぎにもなる。 Sidorovich の野郎の調査にとっては想像以上のプラスになるような物かもしれんが、そんな事俺が知るか。

Hmm... The trader didn't let me down and I'm grateful to him - he gave me a leg up in my search for Strelok. Apparently a stalker called Fox has shown up nearby and he's asking for help. Sidorovich thinks Fox might know something about Strelok or the UHSF organization.

うーん、トレーダーは俺を失望させなかった。あいつに感謝している。あいつは Strelok を探すための支援をしてくれた。どうやら Fox と呼ばれるストーカーが現れたらしく、助けを求めているらしい。Sidorovich は Fox が Strelok もしくは UHSF 機関 を知っているかもしれないと言っている。

A bit of the local folklore I picked up: Last year, Strelok successfully disabled that Wish granting stone at Sarcofag, and destroyed some monolith force. After the case, military got him, and he told them everything he knew. Later military successfully elevated the stone from the sarcofag, and placed it at the trashland, where it belongs to. It caused too many problems.
