Ashita3

CAUTION: The version of Ashita3 compatible with Valhalla is ver3.1.0.3 and Hook ver3.1.1.9. You MUST add "--noupdate" in your login parameter otherwise you will never be able to connect to Valhalla any more.

Overview

This is a new project. It will reveal why Ashita3 got certain popularity. Since no Japanese players are interested in Ashita3, it will be documented in English.

When I talk to NA players, I found no one is using Ashitacast. Maybe it's difficult to learn, but how do they switch FC gears to Black spell, and refresh/TP gears at the end? Some BLM players are using a mixture of FC+ and INT+ on one gear lol. One of the well-known NA player is using /equipset alone and he is complaining on the number of equipset slots. I guess his macro and equipsets get overly complicated.

When you run Ashita, no addons/plugins are loaded. You need to make a startup script called c:\ff11\Ashita3\scripts\Default.txt

Run Explorer and get to C:\ff11\ashita3\scripts\
Right mouse click on Default.txt and save as Default.txt into this directory.
Add /addon load Xxxxxx or /load Xxxxx whenever you install a new addon/plugin
Go back to the game client and enter /exec default in the chat window. (this will be done automatically when you login)

Q. Is it possible to write a script?

Q. Is Ashitacast intuitive enough to write the same lua files as in GearSwap?　
It is intuitive enough, but the functions are very limited.
Q. Is Servo(CurePlease equivalent) useful?
No investigations done.

React addon is unavailable (no automatic run away, no automatic gear changes, no hit-and-run)
setkey is unavailable
TradeNPC addon is unavailable. The Bellhop plugin seems to be the answer but it's causing some issues.
fastCS is unavailable
Trading items between PCs requires old classic menu clicks
Getting annoying collisions with NPCs while running
It is not possible to use weapon skill without /attack
Timers cannot display Japanese spell/ability names (maybe it's working in English client)
Cannot filter out attack damage message logs (no aaFilter addon)
Ashitacast cannot dump augment details in a readable format
There are a few more important addons/plugins missing in Ashita3 (This alone is a good reason not to use Ashita3)
Where is AutoExec?
What about Cancel addon? Ashita chaps, are you manually deleting icons all the time? LOL
~~There are not so many Ashita3 developers in github~~ Searching for "Ashita3" gives you only a single developer. Try searching for "Ashita". There are plenty.
~~Ashitacast keeps crashing LOL (If you use the Valhalla client installer, it will work)~~

Conclusion

Ashita3 is not comparable. Once we get used to Windower4 environment, there is no good reason to switch to Ashita3.

/alias:　Interacts with command alias' to create quick shortcuts.

/alias <trigger> <command> - Adds an alias with the given trigger and command.
/alias add <trigger> <command> - Adds an alias with the given trigger and command.
/alias <del | delete> <trigger> - Deletes an alias with the given trigger.
/alias list - Lists all the current bound alias'.
/alias clearall - Clears all alias binds.

/bind　Interacts with keyboard binds.

/bind [!^@#+][key] [down | up] [command] - Binds a key to the given command.
/bind list - Lists the current bind list.
/bind silent - Toggles the silent bind feature to remove message output when binds are added or removed.

/unbind:　/unbind [!^@#+][key] [down|up] [command] - Unbinds a key.
/unbindall
/bindblock:　Toggles the bind-block feature to ignore keybinds while chat input is open in-game.

Keybind Notes:
 ! - Represents ALT key must be pressed with the keybind.
 ^ - Represents CTRL key must be pressed with the keybind.
 @ - Represents Windows key must be pressed with the keybind.
 # - Represents Apps key must be pressed with the keybind.

You need to edit ..\Ashita3\addons\autojoin\data\settings.json

Change "default": "ignore" to "join" so that it should looks like as follows.

Distance

It shows you the distance in yalms. This information will be very important when you play.
The configuration file is in ..\Ashita3\addons\distance\settings\settings.json
Change the coordinates, font size/name, show name on/off as you like.
Do /addon unload distance when you change this file, and do /addon load distance to see the changes.

enternity

The default settings is "skip=false" in ..\Ashita3\addons\enternity\settings\settings.json. Change it to true.

Logs

It's a Logger equivalent. The log files are stored in ..\Ashita3\chatlogs\
You may need to create this chatlogs directory

Nomad

The /nomad on command will enable a Mog House menu.
You can change your jobs in towns but your spell lists are disabled. Zone out to somewhere else.

Recast

The spell/ability name is corrupted on Japanese clients.
Still under investigation

1. Navigate into \renamer.1.2.zip\renamer-master\ashita\v3

Create a new folder ..\Ashita3\addons\renamer\list
Download Valhalla.lua from http://www.valhalla.group/home/doku.php?id=renamer
Copy valhalla.lua into ..\Ashita3\addons\renamer\list

Open ..\Ashita3\scripts\Default.txt
Write the following code in the Addons section

Make a .txt file in ..\Ashita3\scripts\
You can have a sub-folder under the scripts directory. e.g. ..\scripts\skillup
