Sometimes a Diffusion becomes a 4-double and 2-quad (Death Tower) and etc. depending on the situation.

A stack concept of Diffusion is "Getting sub triggers in exchange for a benefit of that a Death Tower can end by 2nd link".
And then, basically all puyos of one colors tend to get into one link, they are not separated. So the Diffusion has a defensive to a rush attack from opponent, and of course it's easy to send the rush attack from the player.

A Diffusion is classified to 3 types.

A right image is "Anti-meta Death Tower" derived from the Formal Diffusion.

A right image is "ROI's Hellfire system" converted from I-shaped Death Tower or from Formal Diffusion.
