Hello I'm gonna write about advices taking from OPP knowledge.
First, I think your stack style is Shorten Hellfire, and I will write this wiki on that assumption.
For example, this is a shorten Hellfire having a red plate and other Puyos (yellow & purple & blue) as legs.
I may write advices with OPP technical terms, so if you see unknown words, please check this webpage.
This base is "Magic Square" and a stack style is called "Central Stack".
I suggest you think blues are main trigger. But, purple may be also a trigger point by put a blue on purples.
The Magic Square is very flexible stack so that there are 3 major chain routes.
4-double of P -> B -> R -> Y&G
This is the most popular route of Central Stack.
4-double of B -> R -> P -> Y&G
By the way also previous form has a chain route of a blue trigger (That is a 3-triple).
4-double of R -> P -> B -> Y&G
Personally I don't recommend to make I-shaped yellows.
Because, this form can be good chain by putting yellows on 2nd or 4th column. But in that situation, a double-yellow can't be put on there. And a yellow-red and blue-yellow can be put on there but it will not be good form.
I think it's better to put a green-yellow on 4-5 columns and make yellows be L-shaped.
You put a double-red on 5th column but the reds have a lid on the purples.
The more space you can use, the easier it is to connect the Puyos, so we recommend that you build a system that also makes use of the 6th column.
In this game a color we want doesn't often come forever and suffer us so that this 4th red must be put to make a red link. For stability, let's stack for the case when the fifth red does not come.
I think current route is B -> P -> Y -> any.
then, for example,
Trigger this chain and remaining Puyos are like this.
This remaining needs 3rd yellow to add another link chaining after a yellow. So if yellow comes late, it's difficult to add a chain tale and complete the chain.
In such a situation, it will be a sore spot or a fragile point.
You can get more stablity to erase their points through stacking.
Incidentally, if there is no other color you want to put on top of the yellow, you can stack this kind of shape.

The first reason is to accept that more greens.
9 Puyos vs 11 Puyos
In fact you don't need a large acceptance because green is very rare to be flood, but
6 vs 8
When the acceptance of left side is dead, there is large difference. The size of acceptance fluctuates depending on the situation, and there is nothing wrong with ensuring more acceptance

Shorten Hellfire needs 4 purples as a plate, but sometimes purple is drought and chain will break down, but
By converting from the Shorten Hellfire to a Monochrome chain (G to G), You can avoid the chain breaking down. This stack is called "Hell Cross".
Of cource, You can go back to chain having a purple trigger.
