忘却からの帰還〜Intelligent Design

トルコのDurupinarサイトは、創造論者が使ってはいけないRon Wyattのノアの箱舟でも否定されている「ノアの箱舟の発見」である。最初にそのような主張がなされたときに、トルコ空軍が公開した航空写真には、同様の地形が複数あり、自然の造形でることを示唆するものだった。

この25年前から「ノアの箱舟の発見」ネタに使われてきたDurupinarサイトについて、新たに「ノアの箱舟の発見」を主張する者が2021年9月に登場した。ネタがネタだけに、掲載しているのはタブロイド系：

A GIANT shape claimed to match the Biblical description of Noah's Ark has been found by researchers using 3D scans. Biblical archaeologists used ground penetrating radar to study the boat-like formation on Mount Tendürek which has long been rumoured to be the location of the legendary vessel from the Book of Genesis.

US and Turkish investigators have boasted the initial scans are promising and suggest a manmade object heading beneath the mountain - and they remain hopeful it may be the Ark. Creationists have long claimed that Noah's legendary ship is real and was buried beneath the rocky spot, known as the Durupınar, in the east of Turkey. Geologists on the other hand claim the mountainous lump, which was discovered half a century ago, in eastern Turkey is simply an unusual rock formation. But the team led by long-time ark hunter Andrew Jones believe they have images of what resembles Noah’s Ark. The ground-penetrating radar (GPR) surveys were conducted at the site by the Oregon-based Topa 3D - who were surprised at the results. Mr Jones told Sun Online: "This is not what you would expect to see if this site is just a solid block of rock or an accumulation of random debris from a mudflow.

"But these results are what you would expect to see if this is a man-made boat matching the Biblical requirements of Noah’s Ark." The project - Noah's Ark Scans - claim they have discovered "parallel line and right angles below the surface" which are "something you would not expect to see in a natural, geologic formation".

Jones, Mauro’s Doubting Thomas Research Foundation, and a team of Turkish scientists are now hoping to conduct groundbreaking scientific work on the site and have already acquired the necessary permit. The team are currently trying to raise the about £72,000 ($100,000 necessary) for the proposed scientific studies to take place. The findings will also feature on an upcoming episode of "Forbidden History" on the Science Channel.

これに関して、これまでも、Durupinarサイトがノアの箱舟だという主張を否定してきている、若い地球の創造論ミニストリAnswers in Genesisは本件についても、25年前から否定されてきたネタであるとの立場を表明している。

We do not expect the Ark to have survived and been available to find after 4,350 years. With no mature trees available for Noah and his family to build shelters after they got off the Ark, there is every reason to expect they dismantled the Ark (which they didn’t need anymore) to salvage timber from it.

箱舟が4350年後まで残存していて、発見かのだとは考えられない。ノアと家族が箱舟を降りた後に避難場所を建てるために利用できる成熟した木材がないので、彼らが箱舟を解体してそこから材木を回収したであろうと考えるにたる理由は十分にある。

Besides, this claimed Ark site is in a valley and not on a mountain as described by the Genesis account. It is unclear exactly the identity and location of the “mountains of Ararat” [Genesis 8:4; notice the plural word “mountains”], but even this site sits on volcanic lava flows (under the mud flows), which like Mount Ararat itself is a post-Flood volcano that even recently erupted. The Ark landed on a mountain on Day 150 of the Flood, so if it landed on a volcano that was still erupting and erupted again later during the Flood, the survival of Noah and his cargo would be at risk.

その上、この主張された箱舟の場所は、創世記の記述で説明されているような、山ではなく谷にある。「アララト山」の正体と場所は正確には不明である（創世記8章4節は、複数形の山(mountains)と記している）が、この場所でさえ、アララト山自体のように最近噴火した洪水後の火山である火山溶岩流（泥流の下）にある。箱舟は洪水の150日目に山に着いたので、まだ噴火している火山に着いて、洪水の後で再び噴火した場合、ノアと貨物の生存は危険にさらされる。

These claims regarding this site have been made for more than 25 years and have been refuted many times before. We don’t need to find the Ark to accept it as a historical reality.

このサイトに関するこれらの主張は25年以上にわたって行われており、これまで何度も反論されてきた。箱舟を歴史的現実として受け入れるために箱舟を見つける必要はない。

これまで数十回にわたり繰り返されてきたノアの箱舟の発見と否定からすれば。「ノアの箱舟の発見」ネタにのっても、何のメリットもないといったところ。そして、「箱舟は最初の居住用に流用された」という尤もらしい理由も用意できているので、別に見つかる必要もない。
